Updated Contract Manufacturing Software Packed with New Features

Manex Systems Inc. announced the release of its newest software package, Manex Version 3.5. Manex is a client-server based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/MRPII) System integrated with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The software package is specifically designed for the demanding requirements of Electronics Contract Manufacturers. With its industry focus and its emphasis on customer service, Manex Systems has made Manex a leading software package in the ERP/MES arena for Electronics Contract Manufacturers.

Manex is modular software built around a core known as iMAPS which contains the module groups common to every Manex System: Material Planning; Accounting; Sales Management; and Production Management. The iMAPS core delivers robust functionality in all the key manufacturing processes from sales order management to material planning, shop floor management, shipping, invoicing and accounting. Manex offers over fifteen optional modules, including Quotation and SQC, which customers can add, as needed.

A key feature in Version 3.5 is Manex Action Triggers. Action Triggers use both built-in and user defined triggers inserted throughout the software to automatically send E-mail notification to work stations, customers, and vendors about actions needed in response to real time data following through the system. In the unlikely event that a system error occurs, an Action Trigger logs the error and emails the details to the Manex technical support staff for analysis.

In the Sales Management Group, the Quote Module allows users to copy a Bill of Materials from other quotes or from inventory. Discrepant Material Return functions, which enable management of materials purchased on prior change orders, are added to the Material Management and Planning Group. Other new features include an easy to manage supplier line card so users can select a supplier and assign class codes and manufacturers covered and easily create connections with object movers.

The Production Management Module has been upgraded with respect to Job Costing. Users now have the ability to compare the standard budgeted item costs to the cost of items purchased specifically for the open Work Order or to have the weighted average cost of the last five purchases. The Statistical Quality Control (SQC) functions have been greatly improved in the new Version 3.5. Now it is easier to establish a template and save the information. Users can start the statistical selection process by part number, customer or by product. Multiple components have been added to Item Master Standard Cost functions. Users can assign material, labor overhead and a user-defined cost as sub-components of the standard cost. Also, configuration cost can be assigned in the Sales Configuration Module. In conjunction with all these new features, Version 3.5 offers expanded reports, enabling users to assess the overall status of ongoing activities.

Manex Systems' software has several unique characteristics that are absent in most ERP software. With Manex, including Version 3.5, the customer controls the Approved Vendor List and the software allows tracking of vendor lists for each part number for each customer. In the Material Management and Planning Module Group, Manex maintains information on overstock issue. This means that when a Manex user orders a part in a large quantity but only needs and uses a small portion, the user can tell Manex where to move the excess parts for later use. The Material Management group also provides automatic unit of measure conversion. For manufacturers who, for example, order in pounds and use in inches, this feature is invaluable.

In the highly competitive field of Electronics Contract Manufacturing, Manex Integrated ERP/MES software helps manufacturers to reach peak operational performance while maintaining the highest level of responsiveness to their customers. Because Manex was designed with your business in mind, it is the intelligent choice for Electronic Contract Manufacturers.
